Drishti Chauhan is an Indian-born, New York City-based designer specializing in scenic design and interior design, with a complementary background in lighting design and installation art. Her work reflects a passion for creating immersive environments, blending aesthetics and functionality for both performance spaces and interiors.
Drishti’s scenic design portfolio includes acclaimed productions such as Smart People (August 2024), Twelfth Night (2024), The Hatmaker’s Wife (2023), and Into The Woods (2023). She further honed her craft through a Scenic Design Internship with Broadway Scenic Designer David Zinn, where she conducted visual research, contributed to scene breakdowns and scaled model creation, and supported the design team with precision and creativity.
In interior design, Drishti has made a significant impact in both New York City and Jaipur, India. Her NYC experience includes consulting on design and painting murals for Eataly with Less Than 3 Studio, transforming a bar into a disco ball-themed venue for New York Fashion Week with Joshua Warner Design Studio, and contributing to furniture design, painting, carpentry, and assembly for commercial and retail spaces at SFDS Fabrication and Design Shop. In Jaipur, her freelance projects include designing a penthouse and a three-bedroom apartment, showcasing her ability to create personalized, functional spaces.
Drishti holds an MFA in Scenic Design and Technology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a B.Des in Interior Design from the Unitedworld Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, India. Her technical skill set includes proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, Vectorworks, and Procreate, as well as hands-on expertise in model building, scenic painting, prop making, carpentry, and welding.
